Rare Moment as Ruto Forced to Act Quickly After Crowd Turned Rowdy at Broad-Based Rally (VIDEO)

A rare moment was today witnessed during President William Ruto's development tour in Kakamega, as the crowd that had gathered to listen to the President and his bandwagon turned rowdy after an ODM legislator was given the microphone to speak.

Ruto had already addressed a mammoth crowd that had gathered during the inspection of Shirugu Water Supply and Sanitation Project, in Malava, Kakamega County, when he invited Kakamega Women Representative Elsie Muhanda to address the crowd.

It was at this point when dramatic moment ensured as the crowd rejected attempts by the Kakamega Women Rep to address them.

The agitated crowd waved in disapproval, sending a clear sign that they did not want the Women Rep to speak, as shouts of "Tawe, Tawe (No, No)" rented the airwaves.

The persistent crowd forced President William Ruto to pick the microphone and plead with the crowd to stop shouting and allow the Women Rep to speak. 

Ruto told the rowdy youths that it is never a good thing to shout back at a woman while speaking. He then ordered Hon Elsie Muhanda to continue with her speech.

"Ngoja, Ngoja kwanza (Wait, wait abit)," Ruto interrupted the Kakamega women rep as the shouts of disapproval persisted.

Tafadhali vijana, sio tabia mzuri kupigia mama kelele. Haya, endelea (Please youths, it is not a good behaviour to yell at a woman while speaking. Okay, go on...)," Ruto told the crowd before returning the microphone to the Woman Rep.

However, the President's plea seemingly fell on deaf ears as the crowd continued to shouts as Elsie made her speech.

The Woman Rep told the crowd that she will be vying for the position of Governor come 2027, before thanking the crowd at leaving the stage.
