SC Ahmednasir Reacts After a Huge Crowd Turned Out to Show Support to Pres. Ruto in Nairobi

In a show of strong public backing, President William Ruto was met by a massive crowd in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) today as he addressed city residents following a historic engagement with Nairobi County Assembly members.

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi, a prominent constitutional lawyer and vocal political commentator, quickly weighed in on the development, declaring that “Nairobi loves H.E @WILLIAMSRUTO” and affirming that the President will deliver for the capital. 

The event unfolded as President Ruto made history by becoming the first sitting Head of State to address the Nairobi County Assembly. He later stepped out to engage directly with residents gathered outside the County Government offices in the CBD.

Videos and eyewitness accounts circulating on social media captured a large, enthusiastic turnout, with sections of the crowd chanting “Tutam” in apparent support as the President spoke about his broad-based government, national unity, and efforts to tackle urban challenges like street lighting and infrastructure.

The massive gathering stood in contrast to some of the more hostile receptions Ruto has faced in other parts of the country in recent months, sending a clear signal of renewed or sustained goodwill from Nairobi residents. 

Supporters mobbed the area, creating scenes of high energy as the President interacted with the public.

Reacting promptly to the visuals and reports from the ground, SC Ahmednasir Abdullahi posted on X (formerly Twitter) at approximately 4:58 PM EAT:

“Nairobi loves H.E @WILLIAMSRUTO. And Ruto will deliver for Nairobi. (I underwriter this tweet)”

He accompanied the statement with a photo from the scene, underscoring his endorsement of the President’s performance and connection with the capital’s voters.
