Jubilee Deputy Party Leader (Outreach) Joseph Manje has advised Kenyans to heed to Uhuru's advise, now that he is trying to direct them on who to choose in next year's presidential election.
Manje says that Uhuru has been in politics for long enough to know who is best placed to lead the country and should be listened to.
He has cited Uhuru's endorsement of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, maintaining that the former Commander in Chief has worked with him and knows he is the best man for the job.
“If he says Matiang’i is the correct person for this particular point in time, he’s talking from a point of information because he had these ministers, he was with them and any time he gave Matiang’i a certain role to play, he did it with perfection,” he said on Wednesday, as reported by People Daily.
He also hit out at those who have been against Uhuru's involvement in political matters, pointing out that retiring doesn't bar him from commenting on political matters.
“He has been in politics for over 40 years, so a politician will always be a politician. He has something to comment and he has a direction to give to this country," added.
Uhuru also tried to determine who succeeds him during the 2022 election, endorsing Azimio la Umoja candidate, the late Raila Odinga, against then Deputy President William Ruto.
