Latest Opinion Poll Conducted Online Shows Opposition Most Preferred Presidential Candidate In 2027

A growing wave of online reactions has followed a Kenyans.co.ke poll that questioned whether the opposition should come together ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The debate reflects increasing public interest in Kenya’s political future and the direction opposition leaders may take in the coming years.

The poll, inspired by remarks from Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, triggered widespread discussion across social media platforms.

Many Kenyans shared different opinions about the possibility of forming a united opposition movement to challenge President William Ruto in 2027.

A large number of respondents supported the idea of opposition unity, arguing that presenting one presidential candidate would strengthen their chances of winning the election.

Supporters believe a single candidate could prevent vote splitting and create a stronger challenge against the ruling side.

However, others remained doubtful, insisting that unity alone would not guarantee success. According to some users, the opposition also needs a clear agenda, solid leadership, and policies that connect with ordinary citizens if they hope to gain public trust.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua emerged as one of the names attracting attention in the online discussions.

Some participants suggested he could become a strong contender if opposition leaders agree on one flag bearer. Meanwhile, Kalonzo Musyoka continues to receive support from those who value his political experience and long-standing involvement in national leadership.

Other personalities, including Fred Matiang'i, have also been mentioned, showing that the race for opposition leadership is still open.

Despite mixed reactions, the discussions reveal growing public concern over economic challenges and political dissatisfaction, factors pushing more Kenyans to consider alternative leadership ahead of 2027.
