“We Are ready To Join Gachagua" Edwin Sifuna Hints of Major Political Alliance to Defeat Ruto in 2027

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has hinted that the Linda Mwananchi faction of ODM could join forces with the opposition led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua ahead of the 2027 General Election. 

Speaking during an interview on Inooro FM, Sifuna stressed the need for unity among like-minded leaders to mount a serious challenge against President William Ruto.

Sifuna argued that the opposition must avoid fragmentation and instead agree on a single presidential candidate. 

According to him, having multiple candidates with similar agendas would split votes and increase Ruto’s chances of re-election. 

He suggested a scenario where the ballot features only two main contenders—Ruto and a unified opposition candidate—saying this would give Kenyans a clear alternative.

The senator acknowledged that such unity would require extensive dialogue to align visions, policies, and values, particularly on issues like corruption and governance. 

He warned that failure to cooperate could disappoint citizens who are already expressing frustration over economic hardships.

Sifuna also criticised the government over unemployment, accusing it of selective job allocation. He cited personal experiences to highlight what he termed unfair distribution of opportunities, especially among graduates.
