The team arrived at the DCI offices amid tight security as investigators probe claims of chaos and clashes that reportedly disrupted several Linda Mwananchi events across the country.
Orengo and Owino, key figures in the movement, were accompanied by supporters and legal representatives.
However, the leaders expressed frustration after what they described as being denied a proper audience by DCI officers.
Speaking briefly to journalists outside the premises, the team claimed they were ready to cooperate fully with investigations but alleged bureaucratic hurdles and delays prevented them from recording statements promptly.
“We came here in good faith to clear our names and assist in any inquiry, but it appears someone does not want the truth to come out,” a member of the delegation remarked.
The incidents under investigation are said to involve scuffles between rival political supporters during rallies, resulting in injuries and property damage. Police have maintained that the probes are standard procedure to establish facts and ensure accountability.
Linda Mwananchi officials insist the violence was instigated by opponents and have vowed to continue pushing for justice while mobilising their base. The DCI is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
